father

My father passed away on January 31st. It was 4:30 in a very calm morning.
I sometimes still can't believe he's gone forever.
Whenever I saw his eyes, he always smiled before he said anything to me.

It was amazing to be able to spend the time together for the last week of his life at his side.
His great doctor and nurses cried with us, laughed with us through his days at the hospice.
In that way they were always part of us.
I have learned so much from those sweet people and I feel that it will change my life in some way.

I saw beautiful birds near the hospice when my father was in bed.
Those birds came there to cheer the patients and celebrate those beautiful people working at the hospice, that's what I believed.

Today I went to Kyoto to get my father's
family registration certificate.
After that I was drawn to Kinkaku-ji,
"Golden Pavilion Temple" on my way home.

My father was born in this town, and raised with the nice people that I know now through his funeral.

Thanks father for letting me see the beautiful things.
