traveling jewelry

I was complaining to my friend that I was always passing the same scenery everyday; between my home and my studio, between my studio and NY diamond district in midtown.

She emailed me the other day "But your jewelry are watching everywhere in the world."  There was a sweet photo attached.  The three ring sisters were in New Jersey by the way.

Where are you taking Yayoi Forest jewelry today?

after the show

New York fashion week is over, and my show is done also.
I do trade shows twice a year for Spring and Fall seasons.  Designers like me take orders from retail buyers at those shows.

I'm just so relieved it's over now and I completed my collections on time.
There is a story called The Grateful Crane in Japan.  An old man saved a crane from a trap.  The crane appeared as a beautiful lady one day and she uses her feathers to make a cloth for him.

When I am making collections, I feel like I am using my feathers to make jewelry.  It's like you devote all your life and energy into it.

I wonder how other designers feel like when they are building their collections...

early valentine

February is tricky, you feel like Spring is so close but we most likely have heavy snow in this month in NY.
Since I am a March girl, (Yayoi is the name for girls who are born in March) I'm not good at this cold winter season.

To cheer us up, we had Valentine cupcakes at my studio.
Can't wait March.

emerald

I've been always loving emeralds.
I think emerald green looks good to all age, all skin colors and all hair colors.
And having an emerald in a jewelry box makes you feel like so special.

Since last year, my emerald necklace has been really going so fast.
I have to say good-bye to emeralds right after I make another.
In my opinion, emeralds look so good with diamonds and yellow gold.  They just get along each other naturally.

Hope emerald guys are doing good wherever you are now.  And be a good friend of twin diamonds.

Happy Holidays

I can't thank people enough for choosing my jewelry as their holiday gifts.
It makes me so happy to imagine those pieces are placed under the trees right now.
Wish you happy holidays from Brooklyn.
Love,

yayoi

my pink bead ring

We met our niece recently.
The last time we saw each other was last year in Japan.
She becomes 8 years old and she is already nice, warm and caring person.
This sweet pink ring is what she gave me as a present.

It's so amazing one child can make all of us so happy.
For the first time, you were a little shy to us for the first thirty minutes after you saw us.

I hope you are having fun at school now.
When can we see you again?

CancerCare

So this holiday season, I wanted to do something new.
I decided to pick one organization to make a donation from my customers' purchase.

CancerCare is an organization that gives free, professional supports anyone affected by cancer.

When my father passed away at a hospice, I thought about other people who suffered from cancer without any family support.
From his early stage, my family often went to hospitals with my father to talk to his doctors and we shared all information.  When he was in bad shape, there was someone who rubbed his back.   My father was blessed to have his family around him when he stopped breathing.

I asked a nurse at a hospice if there were any patients who had no family or relatives and she said "Yes, many."  And I've been thinking about it since then.

I found CancerCare when I was researching online.  They are one of top rated charity organizations.  5% of your online purchase from Yayoi Forest online store will be donated this organization.

Let's shop for good cause this holiday.
